Welcome to Broke Boats

Hi, my name is Wayne Weber. I will try to offer all the information and assistance that seems to be so hard to find on the web to repair your boats, stern drives, and outboard motors.

I have owned and operated an independent marine service shop for nearly a quarter century & my Father did before that.
We have always offered advice to those who want to perform their own outboard or stern drive repairs.
For some reason this info seems to be difficult to find on the web, or over-complicated once you do locate it.

It is noble to teach oneself, but still nobler to teach others, and less trouble.
- Mark Twain, 1906

Since Mr. Twain drifted from Mississippi steamboating to author, what I will try to do is pass along my experience; for free, to the boating public.
I'm not blessed with a staff or a lot of bucks, so bear with me and I'll promise you my best on these pages.
You will have a chance to subscribe to a newsletter published by me, have a place to ask questions, and of course get answers.

You will be able to browse some informative pages to make buying, owning, and repairing a boat more enjoyable and trouble-free.

I am looking forward to getting together and solving your boating problems through the web pages to come.
I will give you many ways to find answers to all your boating questions including asking me directly.

NOTE: Now that we are approaching our third Summer on the web; questions are filling my inbox daily(around 20- 50 a day).....I always try to answer each and every querry personally, but it sometimes takes a little while,(2 week backlog as of 3-15-03) so be patient!

The better information and history you provide will help me in providing a quick and clear reply, so take your time and include all the details the first time.

Before you fire off a question though; take the time to browse this website because many of the answers are already here.

Bear in mind that I don't charge or make a profit answering questions so when you order a bouy/keychain  by clicking here  it does help to keep this service free!!! Thanks to all.
