Quick Tips

All built-in fuel tanks have to have a fuel shut off or anti-siphon valve installed on the fuel tank. It's purpose is to prevent fuel spills in the boat should a fuel leak develop in the fuel system. (outside of the fuel tank itself)
The most common problem with an anti-siphon valve is that they can clog with debris, sucked from the fuel tank. If you suspect a fuel restriction, always check the anti-siphon valve for items stuck in the valve.

How Many Gallons is your tank?

Here's a quick formula.

Have you got a new tank and are wondering how many gallons it will hold?

Length in inches x Width in inches x Height in inches divided by 231 = gallons capacity.

Or you can click right here and fill in the blanks to get capacity.

One cu. ft. = approx. 7 gallons.

Gasoline weighs 7 lbs. per gallon while water weighs 8 lbs. per gallon.

Always remember to properly vent and attach a ground wire to all fuel tanks.

Fuel pickup inside of tank should be at least an inch above bottom of tank to decrease the chance of pumping water or trash into carburetors.
