Use this chart below and your model number from your Johnson or Evinrude outboard to determine year made and options etc.

Older models prior to 1980 used a different numbering system.

NOTE: AS OF JULY 20, 2002 BOMBADIER CORP MADE SURE NO ONE HAS ACCESS TO THE ABOVE PAGE!!
It was being arcived on The Internet Archives at absolutely no cost to Bombadier(the new owners of Evinrude, Johnson, and OMC) but for some reason Bombadier forced them to remove it.
I hope this isn't an example of their feelings towards previous customers......
Maybe it's another reason to buy a different brand of outboard in the future!
I don't imagine it will do any good but you can complain.
